New Katie Melua Album, Out Today in the U.S.

Katie Melua - Pictures The new Katie Melua album, Pictures is out today in the States so make sure and pick it up if you haven't already! I'm not, only because I purchased the import back when it was released in the UK. It's an album that's grown on my considerably since I first listened. While I definitely prefer her first two albums, there's no denying Katie's talent here with this new album.

Katie plays the second show of her 15 city U.S. tour in San Fransisco tonight, so make sure you get tickets to see her live. I can't wait to hear her in a more intimate setting. She's hitting Boston on May 27th (already ordered my tickets).

According to Katie's latest Facebook update, if you purchase Pictures at Target, you get some live bonus tracks! It's only $6.99! Good deal! Hurry, limited time only. If you don't know Katie, definitely check her out.

Space Cowboy - Falling Down (feat. Chelsea Korka of The Paradiso Girls)

Space Cowboy - Falling DownWhen I first heard this track on The Prophet, I knew I had to have it on my iPod. Produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Tami Chynn, New Kids On The Block, Sugababes), this new track from French producer/electro artiste Space Cowboy features vocals from Chelsea Korka, most recently of The Paradiso Girls (formerly of CW Reality Show "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll").

This track is hot! While lyrically pretty simple, there's something about the beat that's just so infectious! I can't stop listening to it. Like The Prophet, I too wish Chelsea was more prominently featured on the song. Her vocals are one of the better bits in the song and don't appear until the very end.
The video features Chelsea and the rest of the Paradiso Girls as well as a special cameo by Colby O'Donis. This is sure to be one of my summer jams!

Natasha Bedingfield Collaborating with Wyclef Jean & Sam Sparro

Natasha BedingfieldWhile it seems like I saw Natasha Bedingfield in concert at Paradise Rock Club just yesterday, it was actually sometime last year (what an awesome show - The Veronicas opened!).

She's hard at work on her new album in the U.S. According to a recent email update, Natasha has been in the studio with "musical genius" Wyclef Jean and Sam Sparro, whom she says she's going to make a "cool collaboration" with. Good news! She's also been writing with Brian Kennedy (producer on Rihanna's "Disturbia") and Mike Elizondo, whom she wrote much of her last album with. About Mike, Natasha says "I like working with him so much. He is so versatile and plays almost every instrument excellently."

According to her update, Natasha's headed back to the UK for a month or so to work on new material and hopes to have a new album out by the end of 2009.
